Chennai Super Kings who scored 240 for 5 in 20 overs got their first splendid win in IPL defeating King XI Punjab by 33 runs. Chennai Super Kings today in evening won the toss and elected to bat first and started well but wasnt able to make it a perfect losing their first wicket for 27 runs in 3rd over. Then came Hussey who looked inspired by last nite Brenden blasting inning and was taking on Kings XI bowlers 1 on 1 . He scored a stroming hundred from just 50 balls and helped Chennai score 240 for 5 which turned out be highest score made by a team in Twenty20 match.
Needed 241 for 20 overs, Kings XI Punjab started superbly and built a good partnership between JR Hopes and K Goel but wasnt able to convert it into a winning partnership and was broken at 56 in 6th Over . JR hopes looked to play Chennai bowlers easily was scoring with two runs balls and was looking taking Punjab to win but was out after scoring a brilliant 50 . As he got out the run rate fall a bit making required run rate increase and due to this Punjab batsmen were just short of target and finished their innings for 207 for 4 .
