India’s bad record of Final remains the same as before as they lost yet another important final . Eight years ago, , Sanath Jayasuriya scored a magnificent 189 before Sri Lanka’s bowlers sent India tumbling to 54 all out, and a humiliating 245-run defeat.And at Karachi now he is 39 scored a superb century and stunning bowling by Mendis put India to yet another humiliating defeat by 100 runs. Mendis created a history in Asia Cup as he took 6 wickets for 13 runs which was not done before.

With Sehwag hammering an exhilarating 60 from just 35 balls, India had romped to 76 from just nine overs and it looked like that India will win easily till 35th over but as soon Mendis came to attack India started losing the grip ,India got into trouble with Viru back into the pavilion,soon Yuvraj too got confused with Mendis spin, Even he couldn’t have predicted the impact that Mendis would have.After this Robin and Dhoni tried to get back India into run chase but Mendis destroyed India strong batting in front of his stunning spin. India got out for just 173 in 39 overs giving Sri Lanka a stunning win by 100 runs .

winning the toss Sri Lanka decided to bat first ,Ishant Sharma bowled superbly and put Sri lanak in struggling at 66/4 . It was Sanath Jayasuriya started playing superbly and with Dilshan put 93 runs in 10 overs of powerplay but as soon Jayasuriya got out Sri Lanka lost the way and only able to make 273 for all batsmen back in pavilion.

Few days back in presentation ceremony Dhoni said that Chasing 302 in not tough and can be made. Pakistan on Wednesday made it reality as they chased 302 with much ease. It was Younis Khan show with Misbah superb captaincy kept Pakistan chances of making to Asia cup final alive. Pakistan’s openers set the platform with attacking cricket against India’s battle-weary seam attack and was carried awesomely by Middle order as they got the win with 27 balls to spare.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first , Virendra Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir started superbly and got 88 runs from 63 balls but Gautam Gambhir got caught on Iftikhar Anjum bowling . Soon Viru too departed and scoring rate reduces as India lost 2 more wickets in just small interval . All now was on MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma and they did their job superbly as they build 113 runs partnership . Dhoni and Rohit both made superb fifty but when the time came to accelerate Rohit got out . Soon Yusuf too got out but it was Irfan with MS Dhoni who took India too score beyond 300 . India scored 308/7 in 50 overs,Pakistan today bowl superbly especially Iftikhar Anjum who took 3 important wickets.

Needing 309 to win,Pakistan needed a tremendous superb opening partnership which they got too as Salman Butt with Nasir Jamshed As they both got 65 runs from just 8 overs. But Salman Butt got out soon on 35 runs but Nasir played superbly and made stunning 50 but got retired hurt when Pakistan were at 121 . Then came Yousuf who help Younis Khan in Accelrating and made it tough for Indian bowlers. It was Younis Khan who kept the current run rate above required run rate . Yousuf got out for 27 runs and it looked like India might get some chance as Pakistan middle order was not good from last few matches. But Misbah looked in different touch as he got a brilliant opportunity as Captain and he delievered it . Both Younis Khan and Misbah took Pakistan to win in 46th over. Younis was unbeaten on 130 and Misbah scored 70 not out . Indian bowlers were hanmmered badly .

Jayasuriya blasting hundred and Sangakkara sensible hundred had made Sri Lanka one step close to Asia CUP as they got 332/8 in 50 overs. Today Bangladesh looked totally helpless in front of Sri Lankan Openers who smashed the ball out of boundary. Sangkarra splendid century and superb bowling by Sri Lanka Bowlers put Pakistan on verge of getting eliminated from Asia Cup 2008 . Sri Lanka took a giant stride towards the final with a comfortable 64-run win over Pakistan. Superb efforts of Shoail Tanvir wasnt enough to stop Sri Lanka to pile 302 for 7 plus Pakistan Batsmen looked totally helpless making Chances of Pakistan winning blow in air by half of the Chase.

After winning the toss ,Shoaib Malik decided to field first thinking of restricting Sri Lanka to a modest total. Tanvir opened the bowling attack in absence of Umar Gul . He was pretty much on target and was sucessful in getting Jayasuriya out in 5th over.Jayasuriya proved important for them as they kept Sri Lanka for scoring big in powerplays but didnt able to stop them for making godd partnership . Sangakkara looked in complete control and he got full help from other Sri Lanka batsmen which didnt able to put huge score but help Sangakkara instead. Jayawardene, Kapugedera,Silva who score some valuable partnership with Sangakkar to take Sri Lanka to 302/7. Sangakkara scored a superb 112 form 110 . Pakistan bowlers looked a bit helpless in front of Sangakkara and other Sri Lanka batsmen,only Tanvir bowled superbly taking five wicket haul. He gave 48 runs and took 5 wickets .

Needing 303 to win, Pakistan didnt dream of losing Salman Butt in first over. Salman Butt was bowled out by Chaminda Vaas. Losing first wicket in first over Pakistan Skipper Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan started playing sensibly and build a good partnership on board of 72 runs. Feeling Pressure of Run rate Younis Khan lost his patience and got out for 47 . As he got out suddenly run making got a bit slow and this made run rate go a bit higher. This made Pakistan Batsmen panic and they started losing wickets making the target impossible for them . Misbah-Ul-Haq tried his best and scored 76 runs but his efforts went in vain ans Pakistan only Manage to get 238/9 in 50 overs as all Sri Lanka bowlers were in full form . Ajantha Mendisa was superb as he got 4 wickets in his 10 over and gave only 47 runs.

Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke showed West Indies how to apply themselves on a difficult pitch but West Indies didnt able to learn any lesson as they gave their wickets to strong Australia bowlers and handle Australia a comprehensive win by 63 runs Duckworth/Lewis win. When the rain came after 27 overs West Indies’ hopes were almost shattered and when match resumed they needed 146 more off 14 overs, ensuring Australia took a 2-0 series lead.

The real heroes were two men who played on a surface that was sluggish and offered tricky seam movement, Hussey and Clarke put on steady but a stunning century partnership that allowed Australia to reach 213 for 5 after they had wobbled to 35 for 3.

In reply West Indies lost early wickets and went into grave as they lost 6 wickets for 53 runs. When rain came West Indies were at 58/6 and were way behind the D/L Par . When match resumed West Indies needed 140 to win form 14 overs,it was almost impossible for them to win but Chnaderpaul,Powell and Benn tried their level best but it wasnt enough as they only manage to get 140/8 in 41 overs and lost the match by 63 runs acc. to D/L method.

Sohail Tanvir and Fawad Alam 100 run partnership for wicket put the foundation for Pakistan to get a superb win over Hong Kong by 155 runs making a superb start to their Asia Cup Campaign.Both of them made their maiden ODI half-centuries to lift Pakistan to 288, a score which proved well beyond the reach of Hong Kong’s inexperienced batsmen. Sohail Tanvir who showed that he can be a awesome all rounder for Pakistan as he scored stunning maiden half centuries.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first.Their start was bad as they lost Salman Butt without a single run . Due to this blow Pakistan was on back foot and UAE bowler took chances and bowled superbly . They kept Pakistan half of innings in control but Sohail tanvir and Fawad Alam changed the match way to Pakistan and their 100 run Partnership took Pakistan too 288/9 in 50 overs.

UAE batting wasn’t able to handle the target 289 runs and crashed in front of one of toughest bowling of the world for just 133 giving Pakistan a easy win by 155 runs.

An superb century from Mohammad Ashraful, the second of his career helped Bangladesh to get a 96-run win over UAE in their Asia Cup opener in Lahore. Ashraful was supported by Raqibul Hasan, who made his second-successive 80-plus knock as the pair put on 141 off 122 balls. It was Abdur Razzak who sealed the win, and becomed the third Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 wickets in getting this superb win.

Batting first Bangladesh scored 300 for 8 in which we saw Mohammad Ashraful scoring 109 runs with Raqibul Hasan who scored 83 and their partnership was fabulous. UAE bowlers looked fully helpless in front of Bangladesh batsmen but manage to restrict Bangladesh  to 300 only. Zahid Shah bowled superbly and took 3 wickets for 49 runs. There were 5 run outs in total.

Needing 301 UAE start was not good as they lost their first wicket earlier in innings. Arshad ALI and Khurram Khan tried their level best but Due to regular wicket falling and mounting required run rate,UAE crashed fir just 204 runs on board falling short by 96 runs.

A Blasting performance from Virendra Sehwag and Suresh Raina blasted Pakistan Chances of getting yet another win in Asia Cup into pieces as they made a tough of total of 300 runs target a Child’s Play. The pair tore into Pakistan’s depleted and wayward bowling attack - scoring at more than eight an over during their second-wicket partnership of 198 - as India reached the target with six wickets and 47 balls to spare, their quickest chase while facing a target of 300 or more.

After winning the toss Pakistan decided to bast first,they started a bit slow but bulid a good partnership for first wicket. But Butt got out when it look like that he is ready to transform his hard work into yet another marvelous inning . He got out for 35 runs and score was just 91 in 21.4 overs . But as Younis Khan came to pitch ,Pakistan started scoring at healthy rate. Shoaib Malik look in good touch and score a marvelous hundred .With Younis Khan he added a stunning 129 runs partnership but soon it broke as Younis got out for 59 runs . Shoaib Malik look fatigue and got retired hurt at critical time,he scored 125 runs. with some blasting hits by Yousuf and Misbah ,Pakistan scored astonishing 299/4 putting Indian batting order in pressure

Needing 300 to win India start was not good as they lost Gambhir for score of 12 runs. But something worse happened for Pakistan as they lost their main attacking bowler Umar Gul who got hurt in 3rd over of inning and didnt come to field again. After losing gambhir for 9it looked like India will be in big trouble but a blasting innings from Sehwag and Raina changed the match course as they both played sensibly knocking all Pakistan bowlers for boundaries. They both so well that India was scoring at around 6 run a over . Sehwag looked a bit slow today but he got a superb 100 . Suresh Raina got a splendid fifty and it looked like that he might get back to back superb hundred but his dream drenched away when he got caught on indiviual score of 84 . He scored 84 from just 69 balls showing his superb talent,soon Sehwag too got out . Yuvraj and Dhoni took the command ,Yuvraj who was bit unlucky got out for 48 runs but till the time he got out India was on verge of win which they got with awesome six by Dhoni.
